The near-perfect layout of the venue has played an important role in the popularity of Glasgow's Sub Club. The enduring appeal is aided by a low-ceiling, DJ booth near level with the dance-floor and an pristine sound-system which consistently provides the ideal backdrop for a loyal, clued-up crowd.
Highlife presents Here's Your Trance Now Dance feat Autie Flo & Esa (UK): Auntie Flo,Esa
'If something is boring for one minute try it for two, and if it is still boring, try it for four minutes; eventually one discovers it is interesting' - Zen saying.
This Highlife, we reclaim the word 'trance' applying it in it's more traditional sense, within African ritual ceremonies where a trancendental state is reached by all through the power of repetitive ritualistic music (and perhaps some other substances).
We take influence from original German trance masters Klaus Schulze who coined the phrase, now commonly abused as well as musicians such as Steve Reich, Philip Glass and Terry Riley and modern producers making a kind of 'transcendental' music such as Raoul K and Omar S (who's track we stole for the title of this party).
