The near-perfect layout of the venue has played an important role in the popularity of Glasgow's Sub Club. The enduring appeal is aided by a low-ceiling, DJ booth near level with the dance-floor and an pristine sound-system which consistently provides the ideal backdrop for a loyal, clued-up crowd.
Sunday Night Showcase : Thunder Disco Club, Instruments of Rapture, Highlife: The Revenge,Ali Herron,Thunder Disco Club,Esa,Auntie Flo
On Friday the 18th of November we'll be taking the residents from three of our Sunday night rotation and dropping them in to open the weekend at Sub Club.
Representing Instruments of Rapture will be The Revenge and Ali Herron, head honchos of the label with the same name. Expect classics dug from the bottom of enviable crates and the freshest disco and house edits ever to grace our soundsystem.
Thunder Disco Club will be orchestrating their set with an over-excited misfire of elastic basslines, Italo funk, HI-NRG disco, Afro-beat, Chicago house and a suitable dollop of techno.
And finally, one of our favourite party starting duos, Auntie Flo and Esa will be flying the flag for Highlife (brought to you by promoters Huntleys & Palmers and Glasgow-based DJ Brian D'Souza). You can anticipate jackin' music from corners of the planet you'd least expect. Highlife focuses on 'future afro-beat' sounds from the across the black Atlantic diaspora - everything from Chicago house, Detroit techno and disco to Cumbia, Kwaito and Afrobeat. The world is getting smaller: Music is changing.
