If you don’t do that all your Events will be delayed or may not Broadcast at the correct time.

8. Broadcasting Procedures

A Live Broadcast requires the creation of an Event. This Event will appear as Upcoming Event in your Dashboard and My Event Section with a countdown showing, until it starts. Once it starts it will be considered as a Live Event and “On Air”, will appear in Red on your Dashboard and will be ready for live broadcast.

All Events must have the following:
- Start date and time
- End date and time
- Duration
- Event Info
- Image
- Details
- Genre Tags
- List of Artists

Once an Event is available for broadcast you will need to choose your Encoding Method. You will be able to choose from:
- An AwdioSoft encoder (Web-based)
- The AwdioBox vX encoder (Hardware, only available if you have an AwdioBox vX)
- The Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder (FMLE) (You need to install and download this software)

Broadcast Using AwdioSoft Encoder:

Once your Event is created and is its status is an Upcoming Event follow these instructions to broadcast using the AwdioSoft Encoder:

Step 1 – Before broadcasting it’s recommended you ensure that you have enough upload bandwidth. Try a speed test at the following address www.speedtest.com and make sure you have minimum 164 Kbps of upload bandwidth.

Step 2 – Plug the “mixer out” RCA or mini-jack into the Line In of your PC/MAC/Linux computer directly or or take the output of your external soundcard (preferred).

OR

If you’re broadcasting using just a microphone, plug your mic into the “line in” or “mic in” socket of your computer and make sure you set the computer to accept this input.

Step 3 – Log onto you Awdio Account or click on the Event notification you may have received once you've created your Event. Wait 5 minutes before the Event starts. Click on Launch Awdiosoft on your Dashboard, or on the Start Broadcast button available on your My Event/Live page.

Step 4 – Authorize the Adobe Flash Player window on the Encoder Pop up.

Step 5 – Select the right Audio Source and and set the broadcast quality (High / Medium / Low)

Step 6 – Start broadcasting live

Broadcast Using Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder:

Once your Event is created and its status is “Upcoming”, follow these instructions to broadcast using the FMLE Encoder:

Step 1 – Before broadcasting we recommended you ensure you have enough upload bandwidth. Try a Speed test at the following address www.speedtest.com and make sure you have minimum 164 kbps of upload bandwidth.

Step 2 – Plug the “mixer out” RCA or mini-jack into the “Line In” of your PC/MAC/Linux computer directly or take the output of your external soundcard (preferred).

OR

If you’re broadcasting using just a microphone, plug your mic into the “line in” or “mic in” socket of your computer and make sure you set the computer to accept this input.

Step 3 – Download the Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder (FMLE) free from the following address: www.adobe.com/products/flashmediaserver/flashmediaencoder (link is available from your setting section / FMLE or directly from your Dashboard). Please note you need to create an account on the Adobe website before you can download. It will normally take you less than 2 min to download and install the application.

Step 4 – Log into you Account and download your unique FMLE Profile file from Settings > FMLE. This will download a very small file to your computer. Your .XML Profile is a unique profile pre-configured by Awdio with your Account and Channel information.

Step 5 – Launch FMLE then open your XML file by click "File" -> "Open Profile". Once opened, Live streams encoded from the Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder (FMLE) will be routed into your Awdio Live Player only. Please note that with the FMLE App you can increase your upload Bandwidth to 320 Kbps but we recommend not to go to this level as you will create buffering issues for most listeners).

Step 6 – Modify input and output settings as you wish.

Step 7 – Press the Connect button below the FMS URL and Stream fields to connect to the server

Step 8 – Once the Event Starts, press Start button: your stream will Start Broadcasting in your Player. Note that you can record your Event as well from the Application itself.

Note: You can share your FMLE Profile file with anyone you want to broadcast on your Channel Page (Other Musicians or DJs for instance). To do so, you just need to send the *.XML and the FMLE download link to your friends. Once installed and configured, they will be able to stream directly from the FMLE app without logging in to your Admin section.

Broadcast Using the AwdioBox vX

The AwdioBox vX encoder is a professional hardware solution, a 19-inch rack, which enables you to broadcast all your music programs to the web live 24/7. It allows you to manage and broadcast live from a remote location, without having to be on the premises to launch the broadcast from a computer on the premises.

The audio signal is encoded live (via Combo XLR/Jack Balanced or RCA Unbalanced In) directly from fixed locations such as clubs and concert venues. Streams are relayed in real-time to your global audience. Once installed and configured, you’ll be able to program all your events in advance and the AwdioBox vX will manage the streaming and recording of your events.

You just need to set up your AwdioBox vX once, and then all Broadcasts will be administered online through your AwdioBox Pro account and your Event Manager.

9. Web Browser

Awdio is compatible with most major browsers on most major operating systems. We recommend always to the latest version of your browser. Please make sure to enable Javascript, cookies when using Awdio.

The Adobe Flash Player plugin v10 minimum is required. You can download the Adobe Flash Player plugin or check your current version here. The latest version is recommended.

10. Internet Connection

To listen to Awdio we recommend a minimum download bandwidth of at least 164 bps download. However you may require higher speeds if the channel Broadcaster is encoding at a higher bitrate. As a general rule your download bandwidth must be greater than the bitrate of the channel you’re trying to listen to.

To broadcast through Awdio we recommend using a wired connection with an upload bandwidth of at least 164 kbps. Your upload bandwidth must be greater than your stream’s total bitrate.

You can test your connection speed here. Bandwidth fluctuates constantly (especially on WiFi and mobile networks), so so we recommend you run at least three tests before broadcasting.
