2. Why we collect information
We collect your personal information because it helps us deliver a superior level of customer service and provide a more useful online experience. It enables us to give you convenient access to our different services and focus on categories of greatest interest to you. In addition, Awdio may also collect information about you in order to provide you with more useful information and a more personalized experience (e.g. your personal information helps us keep you posted on the latest services announcements, special offers, and other events that you might like to hear about).
There are a number of situations in which your personal information may help us give you better services. For example when we collect your information regarding your activities on our website, we gain a better understanding of our customers and thus provide more valuable service. This helps us to determine how best to provide useful information to users and to understand which parts of our website, Services are of most interest to them. We may use personal information to provide services that you have requested as well as for auditing.
3. The information we collect and use of information obtained
When you visit Awdio you provide us with two types of information: personal information you knowingly choose to disclose that is collected by us and website use information collected by us as you interact with our website.
Your “My Awdio” account and related information. When you register with Awdio, you accept to provide us with certain personal information depending on the level of registration or account type. The Awdio website allows you to create a “My Awdio” personal account based on your personal information, such as your name, your email address, your telephone number (fixed line and/or cellular telephone numbers), and in some cases your mailing address, information about your use of the Service, and any other personal or preference information that you provide to us. This convenient service saves you time and allows for easier use of our services. The system saves your information and assigns you a personal Awdio ID/login (in many cases simply your email address). The next time you order from the Awdio Service, all you need to do is enter your Awdio ID/login and password; the system looks up the information it needs to assist you.
Furthermore, non-personal information are also gathered when you use or register with Awdio, such as your version of web browser (Netscape, Internet Explorer, etc.), the operating system (Windows 98, Mac Os, etc.) and the IP address of the computer from which you are visiting.
Cookies. As we said, when you enter Awdio, we collect your browser type and IP address. In addition, as is standard practice on many corporate websites, we store certain information from your browser using "cookies".
Awdio’s website uses “cookies” to help us understand which parts of our websites are the most popular, where our visitors are going, and how much time they spend there.
We use session ID cookies to confirm that users are logged in, in order to allow you to continue browsing without having to re-enter your identification information for each new page. These cookies terminate once the user closes the browser. By default, we use a persistent cookie that stores your login ID/login (but not your password) to make it easier for you to login when you come back to Awdio. At any time, you can remove or block this cookie using the settings in your web browser if you want to disable this convenience feature.
If, however, you prefer not to enable cookies, please note that certain features of the Awdio website will not be available once cookies are disabled.
As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and click stream data.
We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer the site, to track users’ movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole.
4. When we disclose your information
We care about the privacy of our users. Awdio does not sell or rent your contact information to third parties.
We may send you promotional offers from some of our partners, subject to your explicit and informed consent given during registration, unless you choose not to be contacted during your registration or unless you change your mind at any moment thereafter. If you do not wish to receive any special offers from Awdio and or/ our partner companies (clubs, sponsors), let us know when you subscribe, or alternatively at any time contact us by mail.
At times we may be required by law or litigation to disclose your personal information. We may also disclose information about you if we determine that for national security, law enforcement, or other issues of public importance, disclosure is necessary.
5. Protection of your personal information
Retention. By using the Site or the Service, you are consenting to have your personal data transferred to and processed in Awdio’s offices. We store all of this information in a secure database.
Awdio takes precautions (technical, administrative, and physical measures) to safeguard your personal information against loss, theft, and misuse, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.
The Awdio Services use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption on some web pages where personal information is required. To make purchases from the Awdio Service, you must use an SSL-enabled browser such as Safari, Netscape Navigator 3.0 or later, or Internet Explorer. Doing so protects the confidentiality of your personal and credit card information while it’s transmitted over the Internet.
Our companywide commitment to your privacy. As we said, protecting your privacy is taken very seriously. To make sure your personal information is secure, we communicate these guidelines to Awdio employees and strictly enforce privacy safeguards within the Company.
You can help us by also taking precautions to protect your personal data when you are on the Internet. Change your passwords often using a combination of letters and numbers, and make sure you use a secure web browser.
6. Integrity of your personal information
Changing or removing information. Awdio has safeguards in place to keep your personal information accurate, complete, and up to date for the purposes for which it is used. You always have the right to access or request access, modify, correct and delete the personal information you have provided. You can help us ensure that your contact information and preferences are accurate, complete, and up to date by checking the appropriate section on our website (i.e. “My Awdio”). And you can request a copy of your personal information, your services registration history, and your interactions with our sales and support agents by contacting us at the following email address firstname.lastname@example.org
We give you control over your information. Naturally, if you notify us that you do not want us to use your information for a particular purpose, we will not do so. If you do not want Awdio to keep you up to date with Awdio news, updates and the latest information on services, please use the appropriate email address to notify us email@example.com
You can, at the time of registration or at any time thereafter, request to receive and, subsequently, request without charge via Awdio to cease to receive, the Awdio newsletters and/or promotional offers sent to you by email or to cellular phone from Awdio and/or its partners.
Data-processing law and freedom.
In accordance with the provisions of the French law (i.e. Loi Informatique et Libertés n° 78-17 of January 6, 1978 and as modified by the law n°2004-801 of August 6, 2004), the data processing collected by the Company was the object of a declaration at the “Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés” (CNIL) (n° 1291430).
The Member has a right of access and correction of his personal data that can be exerted constantly from his personal profile (“My Awdio”).
